Gerald Kim is a sophomore at Fairfield Ludlowe High School. He started playing violin 7 years old and is currently studying with Wendy Sharp. He is a member of Greater Bridgeport Youth Principal Orchestra and plays in a string quartet coached by Asya Meshberg. He has participated in the Chamber Music Central as well as Chamber Music Institute for Young musicians in summer. He was a winner of American Chamber Orchestra concerto competition 2018 and a finalist of GBYO concerto competition last year. He has played violin at the church worship as a volunteer. Besides music, he has a 3rd degree black belt in TaeKwondDo and plays tennis. He loves teaching younger kids as a junior instructor in Taekwonddo and as a mentor at McKinley Elementary School in Fairfield.
